Important. The secretariat of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture of the Council of Europe informed Gulagu.net about the receipt of a hard disk with a 200 GB video archive of the Federal Penitentiary Service / FSB with specific evidence of the systemic nature of torture, torment and rape committed by agents of special services under the recording of video recorders. We have not published more than 80% of the files submitted to the ECPP before. Also, these videos recorded specific crimes committed by the employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service, both employees of institutions and fighters of special forces. At the same time, some of these crimes were hidden for 7-8 years or more, and only thanks to such a large-scale leak of video archive files and their transfer to us, it became possible to reveal them and expose sadists in uniform. In many ways, this is the merit of Sergei Troyan, and without his feat it would not have been possible.
We assured our colleagues from the CPT of our support in studying this body of information and, together with Sergey Saveliev and Pshenichny Denis, we will provide any assistance to the members of the CPT and the staff of the secretariat. We do not have a monopoly on working with the archive and we are convinced that only by joining the efforts of independent human rights activists, journalists and international organizations, it is possible to stop the torture conveyor in Russia.
For the first time in the history of the CPT and modern Russia, such an array of data and facts has been transferred to Strasbourg. This has never happened before. Let's continue.
